Te mapa
Shuikou sits in the hilly interior of eastern Guangdong, a Hakka-speaking region where towns tend to form wherever a valley opens out. From above, the town reads as a dense cluster of short streets packed onto flat ground near the water. The contour of the surrounding hills sets the edges more firmly than any planned boundary could, and the settlement stretches where the land allows.
The name translates roughly as river mouth, which says something about how the place came to be: a meeting point of water and routes through the valley. On a map, the river is the organising line. Roads run along its banks, and the denser blocks gather close to it before thinning out into farmland and scattered villages on the higher ground.
A Shuikou map poster keeps all of this in plain black line work. The tight core, the river curving through it and the looser pattern of lanes climbing toward the hills make a quiet, legible composition. At the scale of a single town, the drawing holds both the everyday street grid and the landscape that shaped it.
The watercourse that gives Shuikou its name runs through the town and sets the direction of the main roads, which follow its banks rather than cutting across the valley.
The densest blocks sit on the flat ground near the river, forming a compact knot of short streets that stands out clearly against the open land around it.
Rising ground limits the town on several sides. Roads thin out and begin to curve as they climb, so the map shows a clear change from street network to terrain.

Koteā ko Shuikou
For people with family roots in the Hakka hill country of Guangdong, a map of the home town is a direct link to a specific valley and river. It works as a reminder of where a family story started, drawn without decoration.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date alongside the town. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
