Te mapa
Sinngu lies in Yangon Region, on the low, flat land of the Irrawaddy delta's eastern edge, not far from the city of Yangon itself. On a map, this is terrain without hills, so what shapes the picture is water and roads: slow creeks, drainage channels and a network of lanes that thicken as they approach the metropolitan area.
It is a place in transition. Some parts show the tight, irregular lanes of older settlement, while others show straighter, more recently laid streets and wide plots between them. Paddy and open ground still fill the gaps, which gives the map a patchwork quality rather than a single consistent pattern.
A Sinngu map poster works best at a scale that includes both the built area and the waterways around it. Because the land is so level, the creeks read clearly as black lines winding between blocks, and the result is a graphic, textured print that feels specific to the delta landscape.
Creeks and channels thread through the area, following the low gradient of the delta. They break up the street network and give the map its most distinctive curves.
Irregular older lanes sit next to straighter, planned streets, so the map shows two different ways of building a neighbourhood within a short distance of each other.
Density rises toward Yangon and falls off toward open fields, a gradient that is easy to read in black and white and gives the composition a clear direction.

Koteā ko Sinngu
This map is for people with roots in Sinngu or greater Yangon who want something more personal than a skyline: the actual lanes and waterways of home, drawn plainly enough to be recognised at a glance.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or the year you left. The design is available in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
