Te mapa
Sitionuevo sits on the eastern bank of the Magdalena River in northern Colombia, not far from where the river reaches the Caribbean. The town lines the water, and the map is dominated by the Magdalena's broad channel, with islands and side arms in the lowlands.
To the east lies a flat landscape of marshes, lagoons and mangroves linked to the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, Colombia's largest coastal lagoon system. Protected areas cover part of this wetland zone, so on the map the land often looks as much like water as ground.
A Sitionuevo map poster reflects that watery setting. A small grid of streets holds to the riverbank, and around it spreads a maze of channels and wetland edges. Printed in black and white, the contrast between the regular town and the flowing shapes around it makes an unexpectedly graphic composition.
The town lines the eastern bank of Colombia's main river. The wide channel runs the full height of the poster and shapes its whole composition.
To the east, lagoons, swamps and mangroves form irregular shapes linked to the Ciénaga Grande system. They contrast with the straight streets in town.
Islands and side arms in the Magdalena break the water into several channels. They add detail and rhythm to the river's course on the map.

Koteā ko Sitionuevo
For families from the lower Magdalena, the map records a place defined by river life, fishing and crossings. It also appeals to anyone drawn to maps where water shapes the land more than roads do.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps in Spanish. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Blueprint and Sand styles bring out the river especially well.
