Te mapa
Sliedrecht lies on the north bank of the Beneden-Merwede in South Holland, and from above its shape is unmistakable. The town stretches in a long band beside the river, with the dike road running along its length. Behind it, to the north, the polders of the Alblasserwaard spread out in a tight pattern of drainage ditches and straight field boundaries.
The town is closely tied to dredging. Several companies in the industry began here, and the National Dredging Museum is in Sliedrecht. On the map that river-facing history is clear: the waterfront carries the industrial sites and harbours, while newer housing districts fill the land between the dike and the railway that runs parallel to the river.
A Sliedrecht map poster captures the classic Dutch arrangement of river, dike, town and polder in a single frame. The wide band of the Merwede anchors the bottom of the composition, the long thin town sits above it, and the ruled lines of the polder fill the rest with a pattern that looks almost engineered, because it is.
The broad river along the town's southern edge is the largest shape on the map, a solid band of water with harbours and quays cut into its bank.
Sliedrecht follows the river dike for kilometres, so the town takes a long, narrow form rather than a round centre, with streets branching off the dike.
North of town, straight ditches and narrow fields form a regular striped pattern, one of the most graphic landscapes on any Dutch map.

Koteā ko Sliedrecht
This map suits anyone who knows Sliedrecht, has worked in dredging or maritime trades, or simply likes the geometry of Dutch water management. River, dike and polder make a composition that feels both technical and calm.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a year or family name, and the coordinates line, then choose one of five styles. Blueprint suits the engineering story particularly well, and Classic, Noir, Paper and Sand are available too.
