Te mapa
Sōmēshvara lies on the coast of Dakshina Kannada, just south of Mangaluru, where the land meets the Arabian Sea along a straight sandy shore broken by rocks. From above, the coastline forms a clean edge along one side of the map, while streets, lanes and coconut-shaded plots spread inland in an irregular pattern typical of the Karnataka coast.
The place is known for its beach and for the Someshwara temple near the shore, with dark rock outcrops rising from the sand and surf beside it. The coast here is part of the suburban belt around Mangaluru, and roads and a railway run parallel to the sea, linking it north to the city and south toward Kerala.
A Sōmēshvara map poster balances a long, straight coastline with a dense inland web of winding roads. The sea fills one side as a calm open field, and the street pattern grows organically without a formal grid, reflecting how coastal villages gradually merged into a larger town.
A straight coast runs along the Arabian Sea, interrupted near the temple by rock outcrops that give this stretch its distinctive character.
The main road and railway follow the coast north toward Mangaluru, forming long lines that echo the shape of the shore.
Inland, narrow lanes wander between houses and gardens without a set grid, filling the land side of the poster with fine, irregular texture.
