Te mapa
Stanton is a small city in northern Orange County, surrounded by Anaheim, Garden Grove, Cypress and Buena Park. On the map it is almost entirely flat and regular: a grid of residential streets divided into larger squares by major arterial roads that run for miles across the county. Beach Boulevard runs through the city, one of the long north–south routes that link inland Orange County with the coast.
Like much of the area, Stanton developed on former farmland in the decades after the Second World War, and its streets reflect that period: cul-de-sacs, small loops and long blocks of single-family homes and apartments, interrupted by shopping centres along the main roads. The city covers only a few square miles, and its borders with neighbouring towns are invisible on the ground.
A Stanton map poster shows the classic Southern California suburban pattern in its purest form. The big arterial grid gives structure, the residential streets fill each square with their own small variations, and a flood control channel cuts a straight line through part of the city. In black and white, it becomes a crisp, graphic composition with a strong mid-century character.
Wide boulevards divide the city into large, regular squares, a pattern that continues far beyond Stanton across the whole of Orange County.
The long north–south road passes through Stanton on its way toward the Pacific coast at Huntington Beach.
Within each square, curving streets and dead ends form small self-contained neighbourhoods, a pattern typical of postwar California suburbs.
