Te mapa
This Sucre is a town in the province of Manabí, on Ecuador's central coast, and not the Bolivian city of the same name. It lies inland from the Pacific shoreline, among the low hills and valleys that make up much of the province's interior. On a map the town is a compact settlement with a small grid of streets and roads leading out into the countryside.
Manabí is largely agricultural, and the land around towns like Sucre is a patchwork of fields, pasture and scrubby hillsides crossed by streams. Rural roads connect the town to nearby communities and to the province's larger cities. The plan is modest in scale, with a clear central area and building that thins quickly into open land.
The name honours Antonio José de Sucre, the independence leader after whom many places across South America are named. A Sucre map poster from Manabí captures one specific place with that name: a local town with its own streets and surroundings, drawn clearly enough to recognise the corner where you lived or the road you took to school.
The core of the town follows a simple grid of blocks, a pattern common to Latin American towns. It shows as a neat, tightly drawn area at the centre of the poster.
Country roads leave the town in several directions and wind through the surrounding hills. They connect Sucre with the farms and villages of inland Manabí.
Beyond the last streets the map opens into fields, pasture and hillside. The quiet space around the town gives the composition room to breathe.
