Te mapa
Sundbyberg covers only a few square kilometres just northwest of central Stockholm, which makes it the smallest municipality in Sweden by land area and one of the most densely built. On a map it appears as a compact, busy patch where rail corridors, residential blocks and older industrial sites meet, with the boundary to Stockholm running close on several sides.
The town grew as an industrial suburb around the railway in the late nineteenth century. Marabou, the chocolate maker, was founded here and produced in Sundbyberg for decades before moving north. Today the commuter rail line, the Stockholm metro's blue line and the Tvärbanan light rail all pass through, and their tracks form some of the strongest lines on the plan.
A Sundbyberg map poster captures a place that feels urban at every scale. Older streets near the centre sit beside newer housing districts built on former industrial land, and pockets of green appear between them. Toward the south and west, the map approaches the waters of Ulvsundasjön and the edge of Bromma, softening the dense grid.
Commuter rail, metro and light rail lines all cross Sundbyberg. Their paths cut through the town in long curves and straight runs, giving the map its structure.
The older core around the main station has a tight grid of streets and blocks, reflecting the town's growth as a railway and industrial suburb.
Former industrial land has been turned into new residential neighbourhoods, whose regular blocks and courtyards form a crisp, modern pattern on the map.

Sundbyberg is where many people find their first flat in the Stockholm area, and a map of it can mark that chapter. It fits naturally in a hallway or kitchen, a small, detailed portrait of a small, busy town.
