Te mapa
Tarui lies in western Gifu Prefecture, where the Nōbi Plain meets the hills leading toward Sekigahara. From above, the town has a clear structure: major transport lines run east to west across it, with residential streets filling the flat land between them and wooded slopes rising to the north and south.
During the Edo period Tarui was a post town on the Nakasendō, one of the main roads linking Kyoto and Edo, and the old route still passes through the town. Tarui is also home to Nangū Taisha, a large Shinto shrine and the principal shrine of the former Mino Province, whose precinct forms a green patch at the foot of the hills.
A Tarui map poster shows how closely the town is tied to movement across the country: the old road, the railway and modern highways all pass through the same narrow corridor. The result is a layered composition, with straight modern lines beside the winding historic route.
The historic highway runs through the town as a narrow, slightly winding street, clearly different from the straighter modern roads built around it.
The shrine grounds appear as a green, wooded area near the southern hills, set apart from the dense residential blocks nearby.
Rail lines and expressways run parallel through the valley, forming long, strong lines that frame the town from east to west.

Koteā ko Tarui
Tarui is a quiet choice for anyone who has walked the Nakasendō, lived in Gifu or has family in the Mino area. The layered transport lines and the wooded hills give the print both detail and space.
Set your own title and subtitle, for example a date, and keep the coordinates line. Choose among five styles, with Sand or Paper giving a softer look, and download the files or have a print shipped to you.
