Te mapa
Taylors is an unincorporated community in Greenville County, South Carolina, just northeast of the city of Greenville. From above it looks like much of the Upstate: a few main commercial roads carrying most of the traffic, and around them a large area of curving residential streets, cul-de-sacs and patches of woodland.
The landscape is rolling rather than flat, and creeks cut through the neighbourhoods on their way to larger rivers, leaving green strips between subdivisions. On clear days the Blue Ridge foothills are visible to the north, and the area's growth has followed Greenville's own expansion over recent decades.
A Taylors map poster shows the texture of American suburbia in a clean way. The loops and dead ends of residential streets, the straighter commercial roads and the creek corridors make a pattern that is surprisingly graphic when reduced to black lines on white, or white on black in the Noir style.
Residential streets bend and loop with cul-de-sacs at their ends, forming a dense, organic pattern across most of the map.
A handful of straighter arterial roads cut through the neighbourhoods and link Taylors with Greenville, giving the map its structure.
Wooded stream valleys wind between the developments, leaving narrow gaps in the street network that break up the density.
