Te mapa
Tennō lies on the low, flat ground of western Akita, between the city of Akita and the Oga Peninsula. From above, the land is ordered by agriculture. Rectangular paddy fields, straight farm roads and drainage channels form a fine grid, and small clusters of houses and a few longer roads run through it toward the coast.
Tennō was a town in its own right until 2005, when it merged with neighbouring municipalities to form the city of Katagami. The area is close to Hachirōgata, once one of Japan's largest lagoons, which was largely drained and reclaimed for farming in the twentieth century. That reclamation shaped the whole region's geometry.
A Tennō map poster captures the calm of this landscape. The field pattern produces a subtle, almost textile texture, broken by the slightly irregular lines of older settlements and the coastal edge. It is a map for people who know that rural Japan has its own precise, orderly beauty.
Hundreds of rectangular rice fields form a regular pattern across the plain. On the poster this reads as a fine, even texture beneath the roads.
Straight canals and ditches cross the farmland to manage water on the low ground. They add thin parallel lines that echo the region's reclamation history.
Houses gather along older roads in small, denser pockets. These irregular clusters stand apart from the strict geometry of the surrounding fields.

Koteā ko Tennō
For someone who grew up in Tennō, or has family in the Akita countryside, this map records a place that changed its name but kept its landscape. It is a quiet and specific memento.
You can title it Tennō or Katagami and add a subtitle, a date and coordinates. Choose one of five styles. Paper suits the soft farmland texture, and Blueprint sharpens the grid of fields and channels.
