Te mapa
Thiruvarur lies in the flat, water-rich Kaveri delta of Tamil Nadu, and its map is centred on sacred geometry. The Thyagaraja Temple occupies a large walled enclosure in the heart of town, and around it run broad car streets, the wide roads along which the temple chariot is pulled during festivals. Nearby, the vast rectangle of the Kamalalayam tank forms the other anchor of the layout.
The temple's chariot is among the largest in Tamil Nadu, and its annual procession draws crowds from across the region. Thiruvarur is also known as the birthplace of the three composers celebrated as the Trinity of Carnatic music, Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Syama Sastri, which gives the town a special place in South Indian musical culture.
A Thiruvarur map poster brings out how deliberately the town is arranged. The temple enclosure and the tank sit side by side as large, strong shapes, the car streets frame them in straight lines, and beyond the centre the map fills with canals, paddy fields and roads that follow the patterns of the delta.

A vast, near-rectangular temple tank beside the temple, one of the largest in India, which appears as a broad, calm block of water.
Wide streets encircle the temple on all sides, laid out for the chariot procession and drawing a clear square route through the centre.

Koteā ko Thiruvarur
Thiruvarur holds meaning for devotees, for musicians and for families rooted in the delta. A map showing its temple, tank and streets is a respectful and personal way to keep the town close.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a festival date or a family name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital files are 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs.
