Te mapa
Tiancheng lies within Wanzhou District in northeastern Chongqing, in the hilly country along the Yangtze River. On a map the streets are shaped by slope rather than by any plan. Roads switch back and follow contours, and blocks of housing are stacked on terraces, leaving the steepest ground empty. The pattern is compact and irregular.
This stretch of the Yangtze was changed by the Three Gorges Dam, whose reservoir raised the river level and reshaped the waterfront towns along it. Wanzhou was one of the places most affected, and much of its urban area was rebuilt on higher ground. The broad river now dominates the landscape, with settlements climbing the slopes above it.
A Tiancheng map poster captures a mountain town in the Yangtze valley. Winding roads, dense hillside blocks and open water make a map with a strong sense of height, even in flat black and white. It is a fitting reminder of home for anyone with ties to Wanzhou.

The Yangtze, widened by the Three Gorges reservoir, fills the landscape nearby with a broad, calm expanse of water.
Housing clusters on the level shelves between slopes, forming tight groups of buildings divided by stretches of steep, unbuilt ground.
