Te mapa
Tustin sits in central Orange County, just east of Santa Ana, on the flat plain that runs from the foothills to the coast. Its street plan is mostly regular, a mesh of arterial roads and curving subdivisions, cut diagonally by the Santa Ana Freeway and bordered by the Costa Mesa Freeway. From above the city feels orderly and residential, with shopping centres clustered at the freeway junctions.
The oldest part of the city, Old Town Tustin, keeps a small grid of tree-lined streets around Main Street and El Camino Real, with older houses and storefronts that predate the postwar suburban boom. Toward the north-east, neighbourhoods rise gently into the foothills, where the regular grid loosens into winding lanes and cul-de-sacs that trace the slope rather than the compass.
The south of the city is dominated by the former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin, whose two enormous wooden blimp hangars, built during the Second World War, are among the largest timber structures ever made. The base is being redeveloped as Tustin Legacy, and its old runway geometry still shapes the new streets. A Tustin map poster records that transition clearly.
The large rectangular footprint of the former air station, with its long hangar outlines and wide open parcels, stands out against the finer suburban streets around it.
A small cluster of short blocks around Main Street marks the historic centre, a denser and more intimate pattern than the broad arterials that surround it.
The Santa Ana and Costa Mesa freeways meet near the western edge of the city, their interchange forming bold sweeping curves that anchor the whole composition.

Koteā ko Tustin
Tustin is home for many Orange County families, and for plenty of people it was the first house, the school years or the base where a parent served. A map of the city turns those everyday streets into a clean, graphic picture that fits a hallway or a home office.
