Te mapa
Ukmerge lies in central Lithuania, about an hour's drive north of Vilnius, on the banks of the Šventoji River. From above, the town spreads across both sides of the river valley. Older streets gather around a main square at the centre, with later residential districts laid out beyond. The A2 motorway between Vilnius and Panevėžys passes close by, drawing a long straight line across the map.
It is one of the oldest towns in Lithuania, known in historical sources as Vilkmergė. For centuries it was an important stop on the road from Vilnius to the north of the country. The river's winding course and the slopes above it shape the town's layout, while parks and green banks line much of the waterfront.
A Ukmerge map poster shows a town defined by its river: the Šventoji curving through the sheet, bridges tying the two banks together and streets fanning out from the old centre. It is a quiet, well-balanced composition for Lithuanians at home and abroad, and for anyone who knows this part of the country.
The river curves through the town in wide meanders. It divides the map and gives the composition a soft, flowing line that contrasts with the streets around it.
The historic core gathers around a central square, with streets running outward in a pattern that reflects the town's long role as a regional crossroads.
The Vilnius to Panevėžys motorway passes near the town. It adds a long straight line to the map and marks the main route to the capital.

Koteā ko Ukmerge
Ukmerge is the home or ancestral town of many Lithuanians, including families who emigrated in the last century. A map of its streets and river keeps a strong sense of place in a simple, lasting form.
Add a title and subtitle, such as a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line to suit. The poster comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as print-ready HD files or a framed print.
