Te mapa
Uzlovaya lies in Tula Oblast, south of Moscow, and its name simply means junction. The town grew up around a railway hub, and the map still reflects that origin. Rail lines enter from several directions and meet in a wide yard, while residential districts spread out in blocks on either side of the tracks.
In the twentieth century the area was part of the Moscow coal basin, and mining shaped much of the town's growth along with the railway. Soviet-era housing estates, broad avenues and industrial sites make up a large share of the built area, with private houses and gardens toward the outskirts.
An Uzlovaya map poster is a portrait of a working town. The straight lines of the railway run through the composition like a spine, and the street grids fill in around them. Small ponds and fields at the edges soften the picture, but the main character is clear: a place built where the lines cross.
Several lines meet at the town's large rail yard, and their straight, parallel tracks are the most prominent feature on the map.
Blocks of residential streets sit on both sides of the railway, laid out in regular patterns typical of Soviet planning.
Toward the edges, the dense blocks give way to smaller streets of private homes and garden plots, with fields beyond.

Koteā ko Uzlovaya
For families connected to the railway or the mines, Uzlovaya holds personal history, and a map of the town is a simple way to honour it. It also makes a meaningful gift for someone who has moved away.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed, including the name written in Cyrillic. Choose from five styles, for example Blueprint, which suits the railway lines well. HD files are $9, and printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
