Te mapa
Viti Levu is the largest island of Fiji and home to most of the country's population. The capital, Suva, sits on a peninsula on the southeast coast, while Nadi, on the western side, is where most international visitors arrive. The island's interior is mountainous and includes Tomanivi, the highest peak in Fiji, along with deep river valleys and highland villages.
The island's road network follows a clear pattern. Two main roads, the Queens Road along the southern coast and the Kings Road along the north, together form a loop around the island, with towns and villages strung along them. The interior has far fewer roads, and large rivers such as the Rewa flow out of the highlands towards the coast near Suva.
A Viti Levu map poster shows that ring of road and settlement around a quiet, rugged centre. Coral reefs and lagoons fringe much of the coast, the southern shore between Nadi and Suva is known as the Coral Coast, and small islands dot the waters to the west. The outline is compact and rounded, with an irregular, reef-edged coastline.
The Queens Road and Kings Road together circle the island, and most towns lie along this loop, which frames the whole map.
The capital occupies a small peninsula between a harbour and a bay on the southeast coast, forming the densest street network on the island.
The Rewa, Fiji's largest river, spreads into a wide delta east of Suva, where its channels split and meet the sea.

Koteā ko Viti Levu
Viti Levu means different things to different people: home for many Fijians, a family connection for the diaspora, or the island where a trip or a honeymoon began. The loop of roads around its mountains makes a clear, satisfying composition on the wall.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a village name or a date, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand works well for the warm coastal setting.
