Te mapa
Weh Island lies off the northern tip of Sumatra, in the province of Aceh, at the entrance to the Strait of Malacca. It is small and hilly, with a volcanic origin, forested slopes and an irregular coastline of bays, headlands and small offshore islets. From above, its main town of Sabang faces a deep, sheltered bay that has served as a natural harbour for more than a century.
Roads leave Sabang and wind through the hills to beaches and diving spots around the coast. The interior holds a freshwater lake, Aneuk Laot, set among green slopes close to the town. Off the northwest coast, the small island of Rubiah and the surrounding reefs are known for snorkelling and diving in clear water.
Weh is often described as the westernmost point of Indonesia, and a monument at the northwestern end marks Kilometre Zero of the country's territory. A Weh Island map poster traces the winding roads, the lake and the bay at Sabang, and the coves and headlands that give the island its uneven, lively outline.
A deep bay on the northern side shelters the town of Sabang and its harbour, the densest cluster of streets on the island.
A monument near the island's northwestern end marks the symbolic starting point of Indonesia's territory, one of the best-known sights on the island.
A freshwater lake sits among forested hills near Sabang. On the map it is a clear inland shape within the island's green, hilly interior.

Koteā ko Weh Island
Weh draws divers, travellers heading to the edge of the country and people from Aceh with ties to Sabang. A map of the island records that sense of reaching the very end of the archipelago.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, maybe with the words Kilometre Zero or the dates of a dive trip, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint brings out the surrounding sea.
