Te mapa
Weno, formerly known as Moen, is one of the high islands inside Chuuk Lagoon in the Federated States of Micronesia, and the seat of Chuuk State. Its outline is roughly rounded, with a steep, hilly interior and a band of settlement along the shore. A road follows much of the coastline, and the straight runway of the airport runs beside the water.
The lagoon around Weno is one of the best-known wreck-diving sites in the world. In February 1944 a US air attack known as Operation Hailstone sank dozens of Japanese ships and aircraft here, and many still rest on the lagoon floor. On a map the lagoon appears as a wide expanse of water, ringed by a barrier reef and dotted with islands.
A Weno map poster centres on the island itself, with its lagoon-facing villages, the road that links them and the hills rising behind. Framed a little wider, it can also take in neighbouring islands such as Tonoas and Fefan. That view shows how Weno sits within the larger lagoon, one high island among several.
Settlement on Weno keeps close to the shore, and the road that follows it forms a long line around much of the island. The steep interior is left mostly blank.
The runway of Chuuk International Airport is the straightest line on the island, a crisp strip set against the irregular coast and the rounded hills behind it.
Around Weno lies a lagoon enclosed by a barrier reef and scattered with islands. Its calm water, where many wartime wrecks now lie, frames the island on every side.

Koteā ko Weno
For divers, Weno is the gateway to the lagoon and its wrecks. For people with family in Chuuk, it is the centre of island life. A map poster holds both kinds of memory in one place, showing where the road went, where the boats left from and how the island meets the water.
Edit the title, put a date or a dive trip in the subtitle, and keep or change the coordinates line. Blueprint suits the nautical subject, while Classic, Noir, Paper and Sand are calmer alternatives. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame and ship from print partners in over 30 countries.
