Te mapa
Worabe is the administrative centre of the Silte Zone in central Ethiopia, set in fertile upland country southwest of Addis Ababa. The town has grown considerably as a zone capital. On a map it shows a mix of older roadside streets and newer, more regular blocks laid out for offices, schools and housing.
A main road runs through the settlement and draws its strongest line, with side streets reaching into residential quarters. Toward the edges, the dense core gives way to smallholdings and scattered homesteads. These appear as a fine, uneven texture of paths and field lines rather than solid urban fabric. A Worabe map poster captures this gradual transition from town to farmland.
The surrounding highlands are known for mixed farming, with enset, grain and livestock common across the zone. The town serves as a market and service centre for the countryside around it. Drawn in black and white, Worabe reads as an administrative centre growing outward into an intricate agricultural landscape.
The principal route through town is the backbone of the poster. Most other streets branch from this firm line into housing and administrative areas.
Recent growth shows up as blocks more regular and rectangular than those of the older centre. They are a visible sign of Worabe's expansion as a regional capital.
Around the town, paths and field boundaries form a delicate, irregular pattern. This gives the outer edges of the print a softer texture.

For residents, students and civil servants who spent years in Worabe, the map marks a particular chapter of life. For Silte families living elsewhere, it keeps the zone capital close in a simple, unsentimental way.
