Te mapa
Wulingyuan is a district of Zhangjiajie in northwest Hunan, best known for the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. The landscape is made of thousands of tall quartz-sandstone pillars rising from forested valleys, one of the most striking terrains in China.
On a map, that terrain shows through the roads. There's no grid here. Roads and paths follow the valley floors and twist around the ridges, while the town itself occupies the limited flat ground near the park entrances. Large areas without streets mark the protected mountains.
A Wulingyuan map poster works differently from a city map. The empty spaces matter as much as the lines. The winding roads and the dense cluster of the town show how people have settled into a landscape that leaves little room to build.
Roads curl along the valley floors between the pillars and ridges, forming long curving lines rather than any kind of grid.
Much of the area belongs to the scenic reserve, so broad stretches of the poster stay open and quiet, framing the settled valleys.
The built-up area gathers on the limited flat ground near the park, a dense cluster held in place by the surrounding slopes.

Koteā ko Wulingyuan
Anyone who has walked the trails or taken the cable cars at Wulingyuan will remember the scale of the place. A map is a restrained way to keep that journey in view, more personal than a photograph.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a travel date or a Chinese title. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
