Te mapa
Yingtan lies in eastern Jiangxi province on the Xin River, which curves through the city and divides its districts. The map is shaped by that water and by the railways that converge here: tracks approach from several directions and meet near the centre, making Yingtan one of the key rail junctions of southeast China. Wide modern avenues form a grid on the flat ground beside the river.
The city is also known for copper. A large smelting and refining industry has grown up in the area, earning Yingtan a reputation as a copper capital of China, and industrial zones with broad blocks appear on the edges of the urban map. Their long straight roads and large plots contrast with the finer residential streets near the river.
South of the city, Longhu Shan, the Dragon Tiger Mountain, rises in red sandstone cliffs and is one of the historic centres of Taoism, now part of the China Danxia UNESCO World Heritage site. A Yingtan map poster combines river, railway and city in a clear image of a crossroads in the Jiangxi hills.
The river sweeps through the city in a broad curve, splitting it into distinct districts and giving the composition a strong, flowing line.
Several main lines converge on Yingtan, and their tracks and yards form long, gently curving bands that cut across the street grid.
Large rectangular plots on the city's edges, many associated with copper processing, create bold shapes that balance the finer streets near the river.

Koteā ko Yingtan
Yingtan means something to rail workers, copper engineers, visitors heading for Longhu Shan and families who grew up by the Xin River. A map of the city is a way to keep that crossing point of routes and lives in view.
