Te mapa
Yoshii was a town in Tano District of Gunma Prefecture until 2009, when it merged into the city of Takasaki. It lies in gently hilly country west of the city centre, and its map is a mix of valley roads, scattered residential areas, fields and wooded slopes, with the Kabura River running through the landscape as a strong, winding line.
The area is known for the Tago Monument, an inscribed stone from the early eighth century and one of the Three Stelae of Kōzuke, which were added to UNESCO's Memory of the World register in 2017. The stelae record early administration and life in the region and make this quiet district a place of real interest to historians.
A Yoshii map poster captures the character of rural Kantō just beyond the city: small clusters of streets along the roads, the river and its tributaries, and fields and forest filling the space between. It is a gentle, balanced composition that suits anyone who knows the area as home or as a place of family roots.
The river winds across the area from west to east, its course and banks forming the most prominent natural line in the whole composition.
Houses and streets gather along the main roads and valley floors, forming small clusters rather than one dense centre, with farmland in between.
Low forested hills rise around the valleys, drawn as quiet areas crossed by winding roads that add softness to the edges of the map.

Koteā ko Yoshii
Yoshii holds meaning for families who have farmed here for generations, for people who grew up before the merger with Takasaki, and for visitors drawn by the ancient stelae. A map keeps the old town's name and shape on the wall.
Set the title to Yoshii, Takasaki or a family name, add a date in the subtitle, and choose from five styles including Paper and Blueprint. The HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes, including A3 and A2, as PNG and PDF.
