Te mapa
Zhefang is a town in the Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, in the far west of Yunnan province, close to the border with Myanmar. The area is subtropical and hilly, and from above the town sits on a patch of valley floor with cultivated fields around it and wooded slopes rising on the surrounding sides.
The urban area is modest in size, with a main road running through it and a network of smaller streets branching off. Beyond the built-up centre, the map turns quickly to farmland, where irrigated fields form a patchwork broken by village roads and small watercourses, typical of the lowland valleys of this border region.
Dehong is home to Dai and Jingpo communities among others, and its valleys have a character distinct from the rest of China. A Zhefang map poster captures the compact town, the fields around it and the rising hills at its edges, a quiet portrait of a place shaped by its valley.
The town occupies flat ground between hills, so its streets fit within a natural basin that gives the map a gentle, enclosed feel.
Cultivated land surrounds the centre, with irrigation channels and field edges creating a fine, irregular pattern around the built-up area.
A principal road runs through the town and on toward neighbouring settlements, the clearest single line on the map.
