Te mapa
Zhenjiang lies on the southern bank of the Yangtze, and on a map the river is the dominant shape, broad and sweeping, with islands and sandbanks in midstream. The city stretches along the water rather than away from it. This is also where the Grand Canal crosses the Yangtze, a meeting point that gave the city its long importance for trade between north and south.
Three hills punctuate the riverfront: Jinshan, Jiaoshan and Beigu. Jinshan, once an island, is now joined to the land and crowned by a temple tied to the Legend of the White Snake. Jiaoshan still stands in the river, a green island reached by boat. Between them, the old ferry quarter keeps a web of narrow lanes near the former landing.
A Zhenjiang map poster shows a city shaped by water on two fronts, with the canal threading south and the great river running east. The street pattern loosens toward the south, where hills and lakes break up the blocks. The city is also known across China for its dark, aged vinegar.
The historic canal reaches the Yangtze here, and its channel can be traced as a thin line cutting through the city toward the riverbank and the crossing to the north.
A wooded island sitting in the Yangtze downstream from the centre, drawn as a small solid shape surrounded by open water and separated from the southern bank.
Formerly an island, this hill is now part of the mainland. Its temple and the lake beside it form a distinct cluster at the western edge of the centre.

Koteā ko Zhenjiang
Zhenjiang appeals to people who value places defined by rivers and old trade routes. The combination of canal, river and hills gives the poster a balanced, layered look, and for anyone from Jiangsu it is a quiet reminder of home.
