Te mapa
Taizhou is a prefecture-level city in central Jiangsu, north of the Yangtze, not to be confused with the Taizhou in Zhejiang. Its map is shaped by the water of the plain between the Yangtze and Huai rivers. The older centre is enclosed by a ring of rivers where the town moat once ran, and canals and streams cross the surrounding flat country in every direction.
Beyond the ring of water, newer districts spread in regular blocks with wide roads, broken up by wetlands and parks. To the north lie low marshlands and lakes. To the south the city reaches toward the Yangtze and crosses it by bridges that link it to southern Jiangsu. Salt and grain once travelled along these waterways.
Taizhou is the ancestral hometown of the Peking opera performer Mei Lanfang, whose memorial hall stands in the city, and it has long been a regional centre. A Taizhou map poster shows the old core within its loop of rivers and the wider pattern of canals around it. It is a quiet composition built from water.
Water surrounds the old centre where the moat once ran. It forms a closed loop on the map that still marks the edge of the historic town.
Streams and canals cross the flat land around the city in fine, repeating lines. The pattern is typical of central Jiangsu and very clear in a black-and-white print.
South of the city the land reaches the great river. Bridges connect Taizhou to the southern bank, and the broad channel forms the edge of wider views.

Koteā ko Taizhou
For Taizhou families, the ring of water around the old town is a familiar shape. Use the city or a district as the title and a date or a dedication as the subtitle, with the coordinates of home on the final line.
Paper gives the waterways a soft, archival tone, and Noir draws them as light lines on black. The $9 digital files include six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF. Printed posters can be ordered framed or unframed.
