Te mapa
Dongtai lies in the Yancheng area of Jiangsu Province, on a flat, low coastal plain crossed by canals and drainage channels. The city centre follows a compact grid, but water shapes the map around it. Straight channels run through farmland in long parallel lines, and many roads follow their banks, creating a landscape that looks almost ruled.
To the east the land ends in the wide tidal flats of the Yellow Sea coast. The Tiaozini wetland in Dongtai belongs to the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019. It is an important stopover for shorebirds such as the spoon-billed sandpiper.
Much of this coastline was shaped by centuries of salt production and land reclamation. That explains the grid of fields and channels stretching towards the sea. A Dongtai map poster shows this geometry at a scale where the town, its canals and the reclaimed land read as one connected pattern.
Canals and drainage channels cross the city and its countryside in straight lines. They give the map a repeated, ruled texture that suits the Blueprint style.
The older town forms a dense core with closely spaced streets. Newer districts built on broader, more regular blocks surround it.
East of the city, reclaimed fields and tidal flats extend towards the Yellow Sea. Their long parallel boundaries create a distinctive striped pattern.

Koteā ko Dongtai
Dongtai means something to people from northern Jiangsu, to birdwatchers who have visited Tiaozini and to anyone who knows the quiet geometry of the coastal plain. The print turns canals and fields into a calm, graphic image.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a date or a place you remember. Five styles are offered, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files or a printed matte poster.
