Te mapa
Zhuoshui lies in the south-east of Chongqing Municipality, in the rugged country of the Wuling Mountains near the borders with Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou. The terrain here is steep and often karstic, with ridges, gorges and narrow valleys, and on a map the town appears as a slender cluster of streets following the valley floor, squeezed between slopes that leave little flat ground.
Roads approaching the town wind along hillsides and through valleys, tracing long curves and switchbacks across the paper. Outside the centre, small villages and farm terraces are scattered on the slopes, connected by thin lanes. The overall pattern is typical of this mountainous region, where settlement follows water and gentle ground wherever it can be found.
A Zhuoshui map poster turns this setting into a strong linear composition: the valley town at the centre, winding roads reaching outward and the quiet, sparsely marked mountains filling the frame. In black and white, it reads as an elegant study of how a small town adapts to difficult terrain, and a clear record of home for those who know it.
The streets of Zhuoshui follow a narrow valley, forming an elongated shape that reflects how little flat land the surrounding mountains allow.
Roads curve along slopes and valleys to reach the town, creating flowing lines and switchbacks that give the poster its sense of motion.
Steep ridges and karst hills surround the town, mostly left open on the map, with scattered villages and terraces marking the lower slopes.
