The map
Abū Kabīr lies in the Sharqia governorate in the eastern Nile Delta, a region of flat, intensively farmed land crossed by canals and drainage channels. On a map, the town forms a dense cluster of streets in the middle of green fields, with roads and waterways radiating outward to the villages around it. The countryside is divided into narrow plots that give the edges of the map a fine, geometric texture.
As a regional town, Abū Kabīr serves the surrounding agricultural communities with markets, schools and services. Its growth has followed the traditional pattern of Delta settlements, expanding outward from a compact core into farmland. The canals that irrigate the fields are closely woven into daily life, shaping both the landscape and the routes that connect the town to its neighbours.
An Abū Kabīr map poster captures the character of the Delta in a single frame. The tight urban fabric contrasts with the open fields, and the canals draw fine lines across the whole composition. It is a subtle, detailed map, well suited to someone who wants a personal link to a hometown in Sharqia, rendered with the same care as a major city.
