The map
Ahouanou lies in the Lagunes District of southern Ivory Coast, in the low coastal belt where the Atlantic shore is lined by long lagoons. From above, the map is quiet and horizontal: a compact cluster of streets, a few roads leading out through farmland, and the lagoon system never far to the south.
The town's layout follows practical needs rather than a formal plan. Its lanes gather around a main road, and houses and yards thin out gradually into the surrounding plantations and bush. In black and white, the pattern looks loose and organic, and the lagoons and waterways nearby give the composition a broad, calm edge.
A Ahouanou map poster suits anyone with roots in this part of the Ivorian coast. The region is shaped by water, fishing and farming, and even a simple street map carries that sense of place: a settlement built on the flat ground between the ocean's lagoons and the forest country inland.
The Lagunes District takes its name from the chain of coastal lagoons behind the Atlantic shore, and that low, watery landscape frames the town on a wider map.
The settlement grows along its principal road, with side lanes branching off in short, irregular lines that read clearly as fine strokes in a minimalist print.
Beyond the built-up core, the street pattern loosens into fields and plantations, so the poster shows a town gently fading into its surroundings instead of a hard boundary.
