The map

About this Alirajpur map poster

Alirajpur is the headquarters of a district in the far west of Madhya Pradesh, close to the borders of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The map shows a compact town with a dense older centre, roads leading out to surrounding villages and low, broken hills around it, where fields and scrub cover the uneven ground.

The district was separated from Jhabua in 2008 and has a largely Adivasi population, mainly Bhil communities, known for the Bhagoria festival held before Holi. The district is also the birthplace of freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, whose home village now bears his name.

An Alirajpur map poster shows a town shaped by its surroundings. The tight centre, the roads spreading into the hills and the scattered settlements beyond make a map that feels grounded in its landscape, rather than a generic urban grid.

01

Dense town centre

The oldest part of town is a close network of lanes around the market. On the poster it forms a compact, detailed cluster at the heart of the composition.

02

Roads into the hills

Main roads leave town toward villages and neighbouring states, curving around the low hills. They create long lines reaching to the edges of the print.

03

Broken upland terrain

Around the town, uneven hills and small fields break up the land. On the map they appear as open space with scattered tracks and settlements.
