The map

About this Bang Pa-in map poster

Bang Pa-in lies along the Chao Phraya River in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, just south of the old capital. The map is shaped by water: the wide river curves through the district, smaller channels branch off it, and farmland is divided into narrow plots between them.

The district is best known for the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, a summer residence of the Thai kings set on an island in the river, with ponds, pavilions and ornamental gardens. In contrast, large industrial estates in the district show up as regular blocks of factory buildings and straight access roads.

A Bang Pa-in map poster brings these different textures together: the smooth loops of the river, the delicate pattern of the palace grounds, the grid of the industrial zones and the fine lines of the farmland. It is a map where water sets the rhythm.

01

Chao Phraya River

The broad river curves through the district, its banks lined with roads and settlements, forming the dominant flowing line across the entire print.

02

Royal Palace island

The palace grounds on their river island appear as a detailed composition of ponds, paths and buildings, surrounded by water on all sides.

03

Industrial estate grid

Large factory zones are laid out in regular blocks and straight roads, adding a sharp geometric contrast to the curving river and farmland.
