The map
Bayt Ḩanīnā lies on the northern side of Jerusalem, on the rolling hills that carry the road north toward Ramallah. From above, streets climb and curve around the slopes. Houses fill the ridges and step down into the valleys, and a main road carries most of the traffic through the area.
The area has two parts. The older village core, often called al-Balad, sits in the West Bank. Newer neighbourhoods lie within Jerusalem's municipal boundary. On a map, this shows up as a change in the density and spacing of streets. The varied terrain means the roads almost never run straight for long.
A Bayt Ḩanīnā map poster sets these streets against the shape of the hills. Curving lanes, the main north–south road and terraced slopes combine into a dense, detailed composition. It is a plan that people who grew up here or have family ties to the area will know instantly.

A major road crosses the area, linking Jerusalem with towns to the north. It stands out as the straightest and strongest line on the map.
The older centre has tighter, more irregular lanes than the newer neighbourhoods. On the map, it reads as a denser knot of streets.
