The map
Bengbu grew on the southern bank of the Huai River, one of the great rivers of central China. The Huai curves across the top of the map. The built-up area spreads south and east from the bank, and newer districts now reach across the water. The river's width and gentle bends give the city a strong northern edge.
East of the centre is Longzi Lake, a long body of water with low hills along parts of its shore. It is surrounded by parks and new development. Between river and lake lies the older city, crossed by railways. Bengbu sits on the main Beijing–Shanghai line, and the tracks cut a clear diagonal through the streets.
The name Bengbu is often translated as clam wharf, a reminder of the river trade and the freshwater pearls once gathered here. A Bengbu map poster shows a city shaped by two bodies of water and one railway: river above, lake beside, tracks running through the middle.

A long lake east of the old centre, lined with parks and newer districts. Its elongated shape balances the river on the map.
The Beijing–Shanghai railway passes through Bengbu, and its lines and yards form a long band through the urban fabric.

Why Bengbu
Bengbu is a crossing point, a river port and rail stop that many people pass through and some call home. A print of it keeps the river and lake together in one calm composition.
You can write your own title, add a subtitle with a date or name, and set the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
