The map

About this Chāpra map poster

Chāpra is the headquarters of Saran district in Bihar. It sits on the flat alluvial plain north of the Ganges, near the point where the Ghaghara joins it. From above, the town stretches along the river rather than spreading in a circle. Its streets follow the bank, and fields reach almost to the edge of the built-up area.

Rivers are the main feature of the landscape here. Wide channels, sandbars and shifting banks appear on the map as soft, broad shapes that change with the seasons. The town itself forms a denser band of lanes and markets. A railway line runs through Chāpra, connecting it with other towns across the Gangetic plain.

Saran district is also known for the Sonepur cattle fair, held each year near where the Gandak meets the Ganges. A Chāpra map poster focuses on the town itself: its long riverside shape, the close pattern of older neighbourhoods and the open farmland that frames them on the plain.

01

Riverside spine

The main neighbourhoods line up along the riverbank, giving the poster a long, horizontal shape that follows the course of the water.

02

Confluence nearby

Just beyond the town the Ghaghara and the Ganges come together. Their wide channels and sandbanks create large open shapes at the edge of the map.

03

Railway line

A railway runs through the town as a thin, steady line across the denser pattern of lanes, linking Chāpra to the rest of the plain.

Why Chāpra

A map that means something

People who grew up in Saran district, or who left Bihar for work elsewhere, often like to keep a picture of home close by. A map of Chāpra gives that connection without a single photograph: just the rivers, the lanes and the shape of the town.

You can personalise the title, add a subtitle with a family name or a year, and choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the layout before you buy the HD files or a printed poster.
