The map

About this Chuk Yuen map poster

Chuk Yuen lies in the Wong Tai Sin District of northern Kowloon, at the foot of the hills that separate Kowloon from the New Territories. From above, it is a compact area of large public housing estates, their towers arranged in groups around podiums, courtyards and footbridges, with major roads looping around the edges and green slopes rising directly behind.

The estates of Chuk Yuen North and Chuk Yuen South are among the district's best-known housing developments, home to tens of thousands of residents. The area sits close to Wong Tai Sin Temple, one of Hong Kong's most visited temples, and to Lion Rock, the rocky summit whose silhouette has become a symbol of the city's resilience.

A Chuk Yuen map poster shows the density that defines Hong Kong living. Building footprints form tight, repeating shapes, access roads curve around them, and Lion Rock Tunnel Road and nearby expressways cut bold lines across the frame. At the top of the map, contour-hugging paths lead up into country park.

Estate tower clusters

Groups of residential towers stand in regular patterns on raised podiums, drawing a crisp, repetitive texture that is instantly recognisable as Hong Kong.

Lion Rock backdrop

The steep hillside of Lion Rock Country Park rises behind the estates, turning the upper part of the map into open ground crossed by winding trails.

03

Tunnel road approach

Lion Rock Tunnel Road runs past the district toward Sha Tin, a wide, curving route that frames the housing and links it to the New Territories.
