Yenisei riverfront
The river forms a wide, pale field along the town's edge, and its islands and side channels add soft shapes to an otherwise straight shoreline.

关于地图
Yeniseysk Map Poster & Print
Yeniseysk was founded in 1619 as a fortified outpost on the left bank of the Yenisei. For much of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries it was a key base for Russian expansion east across Siberia. Today it is a small town, but its map still shows a settlement shaped by the river, with streets running parallel to the water and cross streets at regular intervals.
The river dominates everything. It is wide, with islands and side channels, and it takes up a large share of any frame centred on the town. The Angara joins the Yenisei some way upstream, which is part of why this site mattered for trade and travel. The historic centre keeps stone and wooden churches and merchant houses, and the town is officially listed as a historic settlement.
A Yeniseysk map poster is essentially a study in contrast between a fine, ordered grid and a vast, open river. The riverbank runs the length of the town, and beyond the last streets the map quickly falls silent into forest and marsh. It is a quiet, northern composition with a long past behind it.

Regular grid
The streets of the old town follow a regular plan, running parallel and perpendicular to the river, a layout that reads very clearly in black and white.
Taiga margins
Beyond the built-up area the road network thins almost at once, leaving large empty areas of forest and wetland around the town.

为什么选 Yeniseysk
一张有意义的地图
Yeniseysk appeals to people with a connection to Siberia, to travellers who have followed the Yenisei north, and to anyone drawn to the history of Russian exploration. The map holds the sense of a small town at the edge of a very large landscape.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a meaningful date, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files cover six sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
