The map
Coloncito lies in the north of Táchira state, in the lowlands where the foothills of the Venezuelan Andes flatten toward the basin south of Lake Maracaibo. It is the main town of the Panamericano municipality, whose name recalls the Pan-American Highway that crosses this part of the country. From above, the town forms a compact grid, its blocks set in regular rows across level ground.
The countryside around Coloncito is farming and cattle land, and the map beyond the town shows it, with long straight roads dividing fields and pasture. Rivers coming down from the mountains cross the plains in shallow, winding channels. They add irregular lines to an otherwise orderly layout, and scattered farmsteads dot the land between them.
A Coloncito map poster is a picture of a working town in open country. The grid at the centre is clear and balanced, while rural roads and waterways stretch outward toward the edges of the frame. It suits anyone with roots in the Táchira lowlands who wants a simple, honest record of home.

Straight roads run out across the lowlands toward neighbouring towns and farms, forming long lines that extend the map far beyond the built area.
Rivers coming down from the Andes cross the plains in winding channels, softening the geometry of the roads and fields around the town.

Why Coloncito
Many Venezuelans now live far from their home towns, and a map of Coloncito can bring a familiar street plan into a new home. Add a title and a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and adjust the coordinates line to make it personal.
