The map
Croix-des-Bouquets lies on the Cul-de-Sac plain, the broad lowland that stretches east from Port-au-Prince toward the Dominican border. The land here is flat and was long given over to sugar cane and irrigated fields. The map shows this clearly: roads run out in long straight lines, settlement thickens along them, and open ground lies between.
The town centre is compact, arranged around a church and a public square, with a modest grid of streets branching from the main road. Beyond it, newer neighbourhoods have grown quickly as the capital's metropolitan area has pushed outward. The map records that growth as clusters of small blocks spreading into former farmland.
Croix-des-Bouquets is known across Haiti and abroad for its metal artists, who cut and hammer flattened oil drums into intricate sculptures, especially in the neighbourhood of Noailles. A Croix-des-Bouquets map poster shows the plain, the roads and the town that grew around them. Beyond the edge of the frame, mountains rise to the north and south.
The commune occupies level ground between two mountain ranges. Its fields and roads spread across the plain in long, straight lines that read clearly from above.
Main roads from Port-au-Prince pass through the town and continue east and north, so the map is organised around the points where these routes meet and divide.
The artists' quarter of Noailles is known for cut-metal sculpture. Its workshops line ordinary streets that look modest on a map but carry a celebrated craft tradition.

Why Croix-des-Bouquets
For Haitians at home and in the diaspora, Croix-des-Bouquets can mean family land, a childhood street or the workshops of Noailles. A map is a clear, respectful way to hold on to that place and to share it with children who have only heard about it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be written as you like. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster. A free watermarked preview is available first.
