The map

About this Huaquillas map poster

Huaquillas is at the southern end of Ecuador's coast, in El Oro province, where the country meets Peru. A small river forms the border there, and on the other side is the Peruvian town of Aguas Verdes. On the map, the two towns almost merge, and only the thin line of water separates their street grids.

The town is known for cross-border trade. Its streets near the frontier are lined with shops and markets, and people and goods move between the two countries every day. An international bridge carries traffic across the river, and it is one of the key points on the map.

A Huaquillas map poster shows a flat, even grid of blocks spreading back from the border. The coastal lowlands around it contain farms, shrimp ponds and mangroves toward the sea. The river boundary makes the design unusual, with two countries joined in one frame.

01

Border river

A narrow river separates Huaquillas from Aguas Verdes in Peru. It appears as a thin line between two dense street grids.

02

Trade streets

The streets closest to the border are the busiest part of town. They form a compact network of market blocks near the crossing.

03

Coastal lowlands

Beyond the town, flat land with ponds and mangroves extends toward the Pacific. It creates a textured edge on the seaward side.

Why Huaquillas

A map that means something

For families on both sides of the border, Huaquillas is a meeting place for daily life and trade. A map of its streets shows that connection in one clean image.

You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir makes the border river stand out clearly against the dark streets.
