About this Mentiri map poster
Mentiri lies in the Brunei-Muara District, east of the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, in the direction of Brunei Bay. From above, it is mostly residential. Housing areas are laid out along curving estate roads and cul-de-sacs, with patches of forest, low hills and green space between them.
The pattern is quite different from an old town centre. Streets loop and branch in planned layouts, and each housing scheme forms its own cluster. Main roads connect these clusters with each other and with the rest of the district. Where the ground is steeper or wetter, the map stays empty, which leaves green gaps that break the built area into separate pieces.
