The main road
The principal road runs through the town and gives the map its strongest line, with most streets and buildings attached to it like branches to a stem.

The map
Namapa is the seat of Erati District in Nampula Province, in the north of Mozambique. On a map it appears as a modest town built along the main north–south road, with streets branching off to either side and settlements thinning out into farmland and woodland. The layout is loose and open, with more space between buildings than in a coastal city.
The Lúrio River, which forms the boundary between Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces, runs to the north of the district, and the surrounding countryside is largely agricultural. The main road is the organising line of the town, drawing traffic and trade through it on the way between Nampula and the northern provinces.
A Namapa-erati map poster is a record of a working district centre rather than a tourist view. The road network, the scattered blocks around the centre and the open land around it make a sparse, airy composition. For people from the district, it is an understated way to mark where they come from.
The principal road runs through the town and gives the map its strongest line, with most streets and buildings attached to it like branches to a stem.
Blocks are spaced widely, with plots, gardens and tracks between them, so the poster has a light, open texture rather than a dense urban mass.
Beyond the centre, footpaths and small roads fan out across farmland and bush, fading gradually toward the edges of the frame.

Why Namapa-erati
Namapa rarely appears on printed maps, which makes a poster of it personal. It suits people from Erati District, those who have worked there, or anyone who wants to remember a particular stretch of northern Mozambique.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, and there are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Try the free 900 px preview before buying the $9 HD files.
