Ekazhevo is one of the larger villages of Ingushetia, set on the plain between Nazran and the republic's new capital, Magas. From above, it is laid out along long, fairly straight streets lined with household plots, a pattern common to villages across the North Caucasus. Houses sit along the street fronts, and gardens and yards stretch out behind them in narrow strips.
Farmland surrounds the village, and roads link it to nearby settlements and the main routes of the republic. To the south, the ground begins rising toward the foothills of the Caucasus range, which marks the edge of the plain.
