Ko e mape
Mahrīz lies on the arid plateau of central Iran, a short drive south-east of Yazd. The town sits on open desert plain, with mountains rising in the distance, and its layout reflects the long need to manage scarce water. From above, the built area appears as a tight cluster of streets and walled plots, surrounded by open land and scattered agricultural patches.
Across the Yazd region, settlements were historically sustained by qanats, underground channels carrying water from the foothills. Their routes are often visible as lines of access shafts running across the plain. A Mahrīz map poster shows the town within this landscape, where green plots and orchards mark places water reaches and the rest remains dry and open.
The main road toward Yazd and other regional towns cuts through the plain in a long straight line, contrasting with the denser, more irregular streets of the town itself. In black and white, the composition becomes a study of concentration and space: a small area of dense streets set against the wide emptiness of the Iranian plateau.
Open, dry ground surrounds the built-up area, so the town appears as a compact island of streets and walled plots within a wide, unmarked landscape.
Cultivated plots and gardens cluster where water is available, forming small patches of detail that reveal how the settlement depends on careful irrigation.
A long, straight road crosses the plain toward the provincial capital, one of the strongest lines on the map and a clear link to the wider region.

Ko e ha Mahrīz
The architecture and landscape of Yazd province have a strong pull, whether for people from the area or those who have travelled through it. A map of Mahrīz reduces that feeling to its essentials: a dense town set in open desert.
The title and subtitle can be written in English, Persian or any combination, with a name or date if you like. Sand matches the desert setting naturally, while Noir gives the compact streets a striking, graphic look.
