Ko e mape
Munderi lies inland in Kannur district, in the northern part of Kerala, and it looks nothing like a compact town on a map. Instead, settlement is spread through a gently rolling landscape, with houses dispersed along roads and lanes rather than packed into blocks. This scattered pattern is typical of rural Malabar, where homesteads sit within their own gardens.
The terrain alternates between low laterite rises and wetter lowland where paddy is grown, and the road network follows these changes in level. Small streams and waterways thread the lower ground. The result is a map dominated by fine, branching lines and wide spaces, closer to a leaf pattern than a street plan.
A Munderi map poster turns this soft, dispersed geography into a delicate composition. It is an honest portrait of a place defined by its landscape rather than by landmarks, and it suits anyone who knows the area as home, a family village, or a stretch of Kannur countryside they return to.
Roads divide and subdivide as they climb and descend, forming a fine network that spreads across the whole map rather than converging on one centre.
Low-lying fields between the rises appear as open areas on the poster, marking where the land levels out and water collects.
Houses sit in their own plots along the lanes, so the built pattern is light and even, a characteristic look of rural northern Kerala.

Ko e ha Munderi
For families from Munderi working in the Gulf or in Indian cities, a map of the home village is a meaningful thing to have on the wall. The light, branching pattern also works well as a simple decorative print in any room.
Personalise the title with a family or house name, add a subtitle and coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital HD files are $9 and include six sizes as PNG and print-ready PDF.
