Sieradz Map Poster & Print
Sieradz stands on the Warta river in central Poland and is one of the country's oldest towns. The map shows its core clearly: a rectangular market square with streets running out from it in a compact medieval plan. Around this, later districts spread outward. To the west, the Warta bends through low, open meadows that stay largely free of buildings.
For centuries Sieradz was a political centre. It was the seat of a duchy and then of a voivodeship, and Polish nobles held regional assemblies here. The royal castle stood on a hill by the river. Only its earthworks survive, but the site still shows up on the map as a green area where the town meets the water.
A Sieradz map poster sets the tight old town against the looser river landscape beside it. The contrast between the dense centre and the open floodplain makes a strong composition. Roads towards Łódź, Kalisz and Wieluń run out of the town, showing its long role as a crossroads in the region.
