The map

About this Oak Creek map poster

Oak Creek lies in the southeast corner of Milwaukee County, directly south of Milwaukee. Its map follows the typical Midwestern pattern: section-line roads spaced about a mile apart, with residential streets, cul-de-sacs and industrial parks filling the squares between them. To the east, the grid ends at Lake Michigan, and to the west, Interstate 94 runs north to south as a strong, straight line.

The creek that gives the city its name winds through it toward the lake, and its green corridor breaks the grid with a looser, curving shape. Near the shoreline, a large power plant is one of the most recognisable sites. Oak Creek's recent town centre, Drexel Town Square, was built on former industrial land and adds a newer, planned layout to the map.

An Oak Creek map poster balances order and water. The mile grid gives it structure, the creek softens it and the long lakeshore makes a clean eastern edge. It is a good fit for anyone who has made a home in this part of the Milwaukee area.

01

Lake Michigan shore

The eastern edge of the city is formed by the Lake Michigan shoreline. It gives the poster a long, calm boundary and a large open area of water.

02

Mile-road grid

Major roads follow the survey grid, roughly a mile apart. Between them, curving subdivision streets make small, varied patterns in each square.

03

Creek corridor

Oak Creek winds through the city toward the lake, surrounded by green space. Its curves cut diagonally across the rigid grid.

Why Oak Creek

A map that means something

Oak Creek is a place people settle in, raise families and come back to. A map of it marks a first house, a childhood street or a new chapter near the lake, and it fits easily into a modern home without being overly sentimental.

Add a title, subtitle and coordinates of your choice, such as a family name and move-in year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
