The map

About this Okrouyo map poster

Okrouyo is in the Bas-Sassandra District in southwestern Côte d'Ivoire, in the département of Soubré. The region was once dense tropical forest. Today it is one of the most important agricultural zones in the country, with cocoa as the main crop. On the map, the town appears as a cluster of streets where local roads meet, surrounded by farmland and forest.

Like many towns in this part of the country, Okrouyo grew as a centre for farming families and trade. The pattern of the map reflects that. It has a modest core of streets and a market area, and roads and tracks run from it into the plantations. Villages and hamlets are scattered along them.

An Okrouyo map poster is simple and honest. It shows a small network of roads and a compact settlement set within a wide green landscape, drawn in fine black lines. It is a reminder that many places are shaped by the land around them rather than by grand avenues or monuments.

01

Road junction core

The town is built around the meeting point of local roads. It forms a small, dense cluster at the centre of the map.

02

Plantation tracks

Unpaved roads and tracks branch out into the surrounding farmland. They create a loose, organic network across the edges of the poster.

03

Forest landscape

Beyond the town, most of the land is farmland and tree cover without streets. On a minimalist print it becomes calm open space.
