The map

About this Prescott Valley map poster

Prescott Valley lies on a high grassland plateau in central Arizona, east of the older city of Prescott. From above, it looks very different from a historic town. Wide arterial roads frame big blocks, and inside them, residential streets curl into loops and cul-de-sacs typical of late twentieth-century planning.

The community began as a land development in the 1960s and was incorporated as a town in 1978. It has grown steadily since. State Route 69 runs through it and serves as the main commercial spine. Glassford Hill, an extinct volcano, rises at the western edge and is a clear landmark from almost anywhere in town.

A Prescott Valley map poster shows the contrast between that dense, curving suburban texture and the open desert grassland around it. On the page, the lone hill appears as a blank space among the streets. It is a map of a place people chose to move to, drawn in clean lines.

01

Glassford Hill

The old volcanic hill at the western edge interrupts the street pattern. It leaves an open area on the map, with roads and neighbourhoods curving around its base.

02

Highway 69 corridor

The state highway crosses the town diagonally, with shopping centres and civic buildings along its length. It is the strongest single line on the print.

03

Looping subdivisions

Residential areas are made of curving streets, cul-de-sacs and crescent-shaped blocks. Together they form a soft, repeating texture across the plateau.

Why Prescott Valley

A map that means something

Many people in Prescott Valley came from somewhere else and chose it for the climate, the space or retirement. A map of the town marks that decision and the life that followed, whether it hangs at home or is given to a family member.

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the year you moved or a family name. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
