The map
Puerto Cumarebo sits on the Caribbean coast of Falcón state in northwestern Venezuela, east of the state capital, Coro. It is an old coastal settlement, and the town grew up where the land meets a gentle stretch of shoreline. On a map the streets run down toward the water, forming a compact grid pressed between the sea and the rising ground inland.
The coastline itself is the strongest line on the map: a long, smooth edge with the open Caribbean to the north. Behind the town the land becomes arid and hilly, typical of Falcón's dry coast, and the roads leading out are few and direct, following the coast or climbing toward inland settlements.
A Puerto Cumarebo map poster balances two very different textures. On one side is the tight weave of town streets, and on the other the empty, unbroken sea. The contrast works well in minimalist black and white, where the ocean becomes a calm field and the town a small, detailed pattern along its edge.
The coast forms a long, clean edge along the north of the map, and the sea's plain surface frames the town and gives the poster a sense of openness.
The town's blocks line up toward the water, so the main streets end at the shore, an arrangement common to old coastal towns in the region.
Inland, sparse roads cross the semi-arid hills of the Falcón coast, and the map thins out quickly once it leaves the built-up area.

Why Puerto Cumarebo
For people from Puerto Cumarebo, especially those who now live far from the Falcón coast, the map shows the sea at the end of the street they remember. Set a title, a subtitle or the date you left, and the coordinates line records the exact spot.
The Noir style makes the Caribbean a deep dark field, while Sand and Paper give it a sunlit warmth. Classic black and white and Blueprint are also available. Downloads cost $9 and come in six sizes, from 30×40 cm to 24×36 inches.
